A single implant with the crown typically ranges from $3,000 to $5,000 depending on your specific case. Factors that affect cost include:
  • Whether bone grafting is needed before placement
  • The location of the tooth (front vs. back)
  • The type of crown material used
At your consultation, Dr. Kim provides a written treatment plan with a full cost breakdown before any work begins. We also offer financing options to spread the cost over time.
The titanium implant post fuses with your jawbone and is designed to be long-lasting — many patients keep their implants for decades. Longevity depends on your overall health, bone quality, oral hygiene, and how well you maintain regular check-ups. The crown on top typically lasts 15 to 25 years before it may need to be replaced, depending on wear. Brushing, flossing, and routine visits are all that's required to protect your investment.
Most adults with missing teeth are candidates. Dr. Kim will evaluate your jawbone density, gum health, and overall medical history. Conditions such as uncontrolled diabetes or certain medications may require additional planning. Even patients with bone loss may qualify after a bone graft procedure. Schedule a consultation and Dr. Kim will give you a clear answer.
The procedure is done under local anesthesia, so you will not feel pain during placement. Most patients report that post-procedure soreness is milder than they expected — similar to having a tooth pulled. Over-the-counter pain relievers are usually sufficient for the first 2 to 3 days. Dr. Kim will prescribe medication if needed.
From implant placement to the final crown, the process typically takes 3 to 6 months. After the implant is placed, it needs 3 to 4 months to fuse with the bone (osseointegration) before the crown can be attached. If bone grafting is needed first, add another 3 to 4 months. In select cases, Dr. Kim can place an implant and a temporary crown on the same day.
We accept most major PPO dental insurance plans, including Delta Dental, MetLife, Cigna, Aetna, Guardian, and others. Our team will verify your benefits before your appointment and provide a clear breakdown of what your insurance covers and what your out-of-pocket cost will be. Call us to confirm your specific plan is accepted.
Coverage varies significantly by plan. Many PPO plans cover the crown portion of the implant but not the implant post itself. Some plans cover a percentage of the total cost. Our team will submit a pre-authorization to your insurance company before treatment so you know exactly what will be covered. We help you maximize your benefits.
Yes. We offer financing through Cherry, which lets you split treatment costs into low monthly payments with a quick online application. Ask our front desk about Cherry at your consultation or when you call to schedule.
Yes, we accept Denti-Cal at both locations. We also accept most PPO plans and offer Cherry financing for patients who need to spread out costs. Call us to confirm coverage for your specific plan.
Yes. We hold time each day for dental emergencies. Call us first thing in the morning and we will do our best to see you that day. Anaheim: (714) 635-1021. Los Angeles: (213) 500-9968.
Call us right away if you are experiencing any of the following:
  • Severe toothache or jaw pain
  • A knocked-out or broken tooth
  • Swelling in the face, jaw, or gums
  • A lost filling, crown, or dental work
  • Bleeding that does not stop
  • An abscess or dental infection
If you have facial swelling affecting your airway or breathing, go to the nearest emergency room immediately.
Time matters. Pick up the tooth by the crown (not the root). If it is dirty, rinse it gently with milk or water — do not scrub it. Try to place it back in the socket or keep it in a cup of milk to keep it moist. Call us immediately and come in within 30 to 60 minutes for the best chance of saving the tooth.
Invisalign works well for most adults with mild to moderate crowding, spacing, or bite issues. Dr. Kim will take digital scans of your teeth and review them to determine if Invisalign can achieve your goals or if another approach is better suited for your case. Most patients with cosmetic concerns about their alignment are candidates.
We offer professional take-home whitening kits with custom-fitted trays. Professional whitening achieves results that over-the-counter strips cannot match because the trays ensure even coverage and the gel concentration is stronger. Contact us for current pricing.
A veneer covers only the front surface of a tooth and is primarily cosmetic — used for discoloration, chips, or shape correction. A crown covers the entire tooth and is used when a tooth is structurally compromised due to decay, a root canal, or a large crack. Veneers require minimal tooth reduction; crowns require more. Dr. Kim will recommend whichever option preserves more of your natural tooth while achieving your goals.
